Press Release: Pete Stauber: I will continue to be a strong and vocal advocate for the unborn

HERMANTOWN – Pete Stauber issued the following statement today marking the 47th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v Wade decision, as we pause to reflect on this solemn moment in our nation’s history:

“I was honored to join thousands of Minnesotans who gathered today at the State Capitol demonstrating and reaffirming our commitment to the unborn,” said Stauber, who was endorsed by MCCL in 2018. “As a Christian and a father to four amazing children, I will always protect the unborn. Life is a precious miracle from God that begins at conception and ends at natural death and I will continue to be a strong and vocal advocate for the unborn.”

Pete Stauber is in his first term representing the 8th congressional district in U.S. Congress. Pete served 23 years in law enforcement and retired as an Area Commander in the Duluth Police Department. A small business owner and former professional hockey player in the Detroit Red Wings organization, Pete and his wife, Jodi, live with their four children in Hermantown. Jodi is an Iraq war veteran who retired from the 148th Fighter Wing as the First female Command Chief in the history of the unit.

Pete’s willingness to work in bipartisan fashion was highlighted by MinnPost, which detailed “how Pete Stauber – a GOP freshman in the Democratic-controlled U.S. House – has managed to get some bills passed.” The Duluth News Tribune highlighted Pete’s efforts to rise above politics in an editorial, saying Stauber “spent far more time plugging political cooperation that’s sadly too rare in our nation’s capital.” The Star Tribune underscored Pete’s bipartisan efforts as well: “Though not afraid to throw his support behind President Donald Trump and his causes, Stauber hasn’t earned the distinction by being a firebrand. The former Duluth police officer has forged relationships with fellow freshmen lawmakers on the other side of the aisle.”

Earlier this week, Pete launched his re-election campaign with a “Our Way of Life Tour” across the 8th congressional district.
